Paris Night Attractions That Stay Open

Looking at a lit building from the pavement costs you nothing and takes no planning. Getting inside one after dark takes both, because only a handful of Paris venues stay open late and two of them do it on one night of the week. Here is what you can walk into, and until when.

What is open after dark, and until when

Your whole answer in one table. Every figure was checked against the venue's own published information on 2 September 2026. Treat the closing time as the moment you should already be inside, because last admission is 30 to 60 minutes earlier at all of them.

The two that are free and open late

Sacré-Cœur opens from 06:30 to 22:30 every single day of the year, including Christmas, and you pay nothing to go in. Notre-Dame is free too, and on Thursdays you can be inside it until 22:00. Between them they give you an evening that costs no more than the métro fare, and they are why the honest answer to "do I need a tour" is sometimes no.

The dome climb is ticketed and closes well before the basilica does. The basilica's own practical-information page does not publish the dome hours, so ask at the door rather than trusting a time you found elsewhere.

The Louvre on a Wednesday or Friday

The museum runs late twice a week, until 21:00 on Wednesdays and Fridays, and shuts entirely on Tuesdays. Last admission is an hour before closing, so your real cut-off is 20:00. You will find the late slots noticeably quieter than the daytime, which several reviewers of the private evening tour say in almost the same words.

Standard admission is €22 if you are visiting from the European Economic Area and €32 if you are not. That two-tier pricing catches people out, so budget the higher figure unless you hold an EEA passport.

The Musée d'Orsay on a Thursday

Thursday is your only late night here, running to 21:45, and it comes with a reduced evening ticket of €12 from 18:00. Last admission is 21:00 and the galleries begin closing at 21:15. Do not plan it for a Monday, when the museum is shut.

The great clock face on the upper floor, looking out over the river towards Montmartre, is the reason to be there in the evening rather than the morning.

Going up: the Eiffel Tower and the Arc de Triomphe

The tower is open daily until 23:00, and hours are published per date on its own calendar rather than as a fixed season, so check yours. The Arc de Triomphe terrace runs to 23:00 from 1 April to 30 September and 22:30 from 1 October to 31 March, opening an hour later on Tuesdays, with last admission 45 minutes before closing.

They give you different views rather than competing ones. From the Eiffel Tower you look down at a city with a gap in it; from the arch, the tower is in your photograph. The arch is also cheaper: €22 in summer, €16 in winter, and €16 on summer Wednesdays.

The Moulin Rouge

The revue is called Féerie and runs twice nightly at 21:00 and 23:00, with dinner served from 19:00 for the dinner-and-show ticket. Smart dress is required and shorts, sportswear and sports shoes are turned away at the door. The minimum age is six, accompanied by an adult, and the show includes passages with nudity.

The cloakroom is compulsory and is not in the ticket price, which is a small cost that catches people out. If you would rather not assemble the evening yourself, one of the tours listed on Paris Night Tours bundles the 19:00 dinner and the show with a drop-off afterwards.

What is closed that you might expect to be open

Most Paris museums shut between 18:00 and 19:00 and do not run late nights at all. The Catacombs close in the evening, so there is no catacombs night tour to book, whatever the search results suggest. Sightseeing flights over central Paris do not run after dark either, so a night helicopter tour is not available.
